Google, Nvidia, Emerald AI: AI Energy Management Alliance
The biggest obstacle to America's AI buildout is no longer chips or capital. It's electricity. And three of the most powerful names in the industry — Google, NVIDIA, and the energy-AI startup Emerald AI — just launched a coalition designed to remove it. The AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA), announced Wednesday, is a first-of-its-kind coalition focused on turning AI data centers from grid liabilities into flexible grid assets: facilities that can dial their power consumption up and down as the grid needs, pair with on-site generation and storage, and earn faster interconnections for proving it. Eighteen launch partners have signed on, including Anthropic, chipmaker Analog Devices, utilities and developers AES, Constellation, NRG, and RWE, and grid operator National Grid.
